About us

The driving force behind ScubaGeraLab is Marcel Jansen. Marcel is a PADI Course Director with over 20 years of experience in the diving industry. Born in the Netherlands, he earned a degree in engineering and began his career working as a mechanical engineer and a trainer for engineering software.

After being certified as an Open Water Diver in 1999, Marcel became a PADI Instructor in 2003. Since then, he has been diving and working in Europe, Egypt, the Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia. He earned his PADI Course Director status in 2018.

Marcel leads Instructor Development Courses (IDCs) across multiple locations in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. More information about his PADI IDC program can be found on AsiaScubaInstructors.com.

Through his extensive work training dive professionals and conducting thousands of dives in diverse conditions around the world, Marcel has developed a deep understanding of what makes diving equipment truly perform when it matters most.

This hands-on experience, combined with his engineering background, gives Marcel a unique perspective on scuba gear. He knows firsthand what instructors and divers need from their equipment—reliability, durability, and real-world performance.
